Storywise

Storywise was founded and is run by Sheila Wee, a Singaporean storyteller who has been living and breathing storytelling since 1998.  Because of her work to pioneer the revival of storytelling in Singapore, she has become known as Singapore’s Godmother of Storytelling. As well as running Storywise, Sheila is a Founding Director of the Federation of Asian Storytellers (FEAST). Sheila’s international work as a performer and workshop leader has taken her to Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, the UK and Vietnam. She is comfortable telling to both small and large audiences of all ages and is adept at varying her storytelling style according to her audience. Her storytelling has been described variously, as warm, engaging, elegant and captivating. Sheila teaches storytelling across a broad range of applications; from using storytelling in all levels of education, from preschool to university, to the use of storytelling in organisations and cultural institutions.  Storywise has strong team of highly experienced professional storytellers endorsed by the NAC for AEP programmes in English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Not only are they experienced teaching artists, but almost all of them were teachers before they became professional storytellers.
