Building Emotional Resilience Through the Arts

The arts play an important role in nurturing students’ self-awareness by providing safe spaces for them to express their emotions and reflect on their inner experiences. Through thoughtfully designed arts workshops, students are guided to recognise and articulate their feelings, developing healthy coping strategies and a deeper understanding of themselves. In programmes such as Explore My Emotions Through Art!, students create a “Book of Feelings” as a creative tool to support emotional expression and resilience. Collaborative theatre programmes like Two Sides of a Coin further build empathy through relatable role-play, encouraging students to become “Upstanders” who support others with kindness. By normalising help-seeking and constructive communication, these programmes foster a supportive school environment where students navigate social challenges with compassion and responsible decision-making.
