Programme Synopsis Many artists from overseas come to Singapore and continue their musical work here in Singapore. The diversity and the ever-continuing interaction of Singapore’s local scene with the international artists is what enriches the musical culture in Singapore. The Vocal Studio Singapore presents Colours of Our Voices: a multi-cultural, cross-genre performance, showcasing the songs of various styles (Kpop, Gypsy, Malay, Pop, Soul/R&B) on one stage and how cultural interaction happens through singing. Participating students will not only appreciate the diversity of music that exists in Singapore, but also be part of the performance in completing the songs together with the performers, and learning the rhythm and language of the songs. What is truly important for individual artists to grow as a great musician is first to stay open and curious about various types of music and the life around them. At the same time, staying true to themselves and not being afraid of singing their own song and showing their own character is at the core of self-awareness and confidence. The performance will be serving as an inspiration for the students to grow their own potential.
