Programme Synopsis ComixGuru’s core philosophy is based on these 3 pillars: Go-easy, Go-engage and Go-experience. 1. Go-easy: Keep it fun and super simple to understand 2. Go-engage: Make learning relatable and exciting 3. Go-experience: Explore, discover and create with an outcome in mind Rediscover Cartoon Creation is a course designed to impart to learners the skill of drawing cartoon/manga characters based on our proprietary learning model. Our teaching approach focuses on “the one skill set that makes a difference” in creating a prominent cartoon/manga character that is simple to apply, relatable to one’s experience and scalable regardless of one’s learning level. In short, learners shall be able to draw a cartoon/manga character fairly quickly in just a few sessions and they shall be able to make significant progress if they put the skill into practice. This 5-hour long course is aimed at learners who have a character in mind or are inspired to create a Cartoon/Manga style character. The lesson can be customised and the duration can be adjusted based on the school requirement. In this course, they shall acquire the one skill set that is essential in drawing a successful cartoon/manga character: - Shapes and elements involved in a drawing - Face features and facial expression - Expressive hairstyles and design - Body language and postures - Human vs cartoon anatomy - Common hand gestures - Clothes and accessories - Personas and the character design - Creating an original cartoon or manga style character based on observation or imagination Learning Outcome: Students shall be able to create a distinctive Cartoon/Manga character with their signature clothes and postures.

The Tote Board Arts Grant was introduced in 1995 to encourage the development of a vibrant arts culture in schools, and to promote arts appreciation amongst students.

Each year, all MOE schools and ITE Colleges may opt-in to receive the Arts Grant. Schools may use the grant to subsidise the purchase of programmes under the NAC-AEP and for the Artist-in-School Scheme (AISS).

All approved programmes are listed on the NAC-AEP Directory and come with a valid Letter of Eligibility.

To purchase this programme, contact the representative listed on the Programme Detail Page and make contractual arrangements directly with the programme provider.

Please ensure that a valid Letter of Eligibility (LOE) is obtained. Note that MOE procurement guidelines apply.

Payment should be made directly to the programme provider. Claims for the Arts Grant should be made via IFAAS and in accordance to Grant Guidelines.

Programme providers are permitted to make changes to the following aspects of an NAC-AEP, according to the school’s needs:

  • Programme duration, including no. of sessions
  • Cost of programme
  • Class size

Under the above conditions, schools can make claims based on revised programme costs using the same Programme ID listed on the Letter of Eligibility (LOE).

The following changes are not permitted when customising programmes:

  • Changes to content
  • Inclusion of non-approved instructor(s)
