Post-show, a quiz will be held to reinstil the learnings from the production presented. Dang Anum - A Synopsis Dang Anum tells a story of a young consort, where her personal misfortune spiralled the nation into a tragedy. Shortly after the menace of the swordfish onto the island of Singapore, its Sultan passed away. He was succeeded by his son, Prince Iskandar Shah. The new Sultan like others before him, had a number of consorts. One of the consorts was Dang Anum, the daughter of Sang Rajuna Tapa, the Sultan’s trusted Datuk Bendahari. Earlier, Dang Anum has been waged by the vindictive Seri Syahbandar to the Sultan over a personal grudge against Sang Rajuna Tapa. However, Dang Anum fast became the Sultan’s favourite consort. The King’s obsessive love for his young consort caused great jealousy among the Queen and the other consorts. Driven by resentment and hatred, they planned her downfall. A malicious rumour was orchestrated by the ladies of the palace, accusing Dang Anum of being unfaithful. An intricate story was carved - that Dang Anum was being unfaithful to the Sultan in his absence. Believing the rumour, the Sultan became furious and without hesitation, ordered the arrest of Dang Anum and sentenced her to death for an infidelity that didn’t exist. On the day Dang Anum was impaled to death in the public square - as was with the law of the land in those days - Sang Rajuna Tapa, who was saddened by his daughter’s death and encouraged by his wife Dang Cempaka, vowed vengeance upon the Sultan for the grave injustice.
