Programme Synopsis ComixGuru’s art program leverages the inquiry-based and adaptive learning strategies with differentiated instruction to facilitate critical and inventive thinking and achieve intentional, focused outcomes in each lesson. ComixGuru’s core philosophy is based on these 3 pillars: Go-easy, Go-engage and Go-experience. 1. Go-easy: Keep it fun and super simple to understand 2. Go-engage: Make learning relatable and exciting 3. Go-experience: Explore, discover and create with an outcome in mind We use learning management systems(LMS) to engage students in self-paced learning where possible and empower them with learning resources (eGuides) so that they can take charge of their learning progress to complement the limits of classroom teaching. Students are encouraged to ask questions and embrace the beginner’s mind when executing a technique and be open-minded when solving problems. Rediscover Watercolour Zen is a watercolour painting style inspired by Zen Art. This style follows the minimalist concept, which is a mindset-based ideology: keep it simple, clean and uncluttered of details, but also allow the flow of water (paint) to breathe life into your painting. This style works not by pushing through, but instead allows you to let go of the result (expectation) yet still maintain mental control over your art direction. You can imagine it is about being gentle, but each stroke is decisive, and the result is raw but with character (aesthetically pleasing). This is a wellness programme that applies the ideology of Zen painting to reconnect you with your inner self. Instead of learning painting techniques for the sake of learning to paint, you learn to align your attention with the focus on your breathing, and let that inner child express what he feels and sees in your reality. The practice can empower your spirit and find self-assurance that previously went unnoticed. Who is this for: The 6 hour-long course (videos included for self-paced learning) is suitable for the first timer trying out watercolour painting. This course shall also benefit learners who have attempted painting before and want to explore a different approach to develop a style; are welcome to attend the lesson. The course duration can be customised and adjusted based on the needs of the school. What shall the learners experience in the workshop: This workshop intends to let learners reconnect with their authentic self and find the rhythm that correctly belongs to them, through the learning of watercolour painting. I will show you the correct mindset you need to tune into to deliver precise and decisive strokes in a painting. You shall learn the fundamental skills for watercolour painting and express your Zen viewpoint on reality. Rediscover Watercolour Zen introduces you to a different reality that can be felt in a painting. This painting is a reflection of your inner psyche as well as the health of your well being.
