Programme Synopsis “STAR – Kids’ Creative Movement” is a programme specially customized to meet the needs of students at the primary school level. Converge adopts specific teaching techniques catered to engaging today’s kids to help them build interest in Creative Movement and Dance in general, all while picking up important skills and values associated with the 21st Century Competencies. The Converge STAR series strives to Shape students, harness their Talents, develop Appreciation, all while keeping Relevance in mind. SHAPE – At their highly impressionable age, we introduce values-driven lessons that will equip students with social and emotional skills that are in line with the 21st Century Competencies, allowing them to learn about and through dance all at the same time. TALENT – We want to develop their dance potential by equipping them with the correct techniques and a solid foundation. They will pick up basics of the genre, choreographed sequences, as well as stage performance skills. APPRECIATION – To develop passion for the genre and dance in general, we believe that it is important to guide students in understanding the history of the specific dance genre. With understanding and awareness that goes beyond just its physical form, students enjoy a more holistic appreciation for the art form. RELEVANCE – Our faculty adopts age-appropriate teaching techniques, music and language to help our Primary School students better understand the materials covered. Our lesson plans are also customizable according to the school’s needs (e.g. inclusion of specific themes, duration changes, etc.), in order to better engage the students. Students will pick up Creative Movement concepts and techniques, including understanding and executing Space, Levels, Size, Directions and more. These fun concepts are taught through interactive and interesting individual work and group activities, all of which will help them gain greater body awareness and control, and help in future dance pursuits. Learning Objectives APPRECIATE - Appreciate and acknowledging Movement concepts and techniques, and how they are relevant in other genres - Spark curiosity in Movement and Dance, build interest in understanding Dance on a deeper level ACQUIRE - Acquiring knowledge, understanding and ability to execute Movement concepts and applying them in executing choreographed sequences - Learning key terminologies and vocabularies associated with and/or adopted in Movement and Dance - Engage in hands-on practical application of above, including through Movement activities, choreography, showcase preparation. ARTICULATE - Guided reflection and feedback at end of every session to encourage articulating of ideas, viewpoints and perspectives - Develop awareness of audiences and generating respect for differing viewpoints and ideas - Conceptualize and translate ideas into works through guided self-choreographies or group activities

The Tote Board Arts Grant was introduced in 1995 to encourage the development of a vibrant arts culture in schools, and to promote arts appreciation amongst students.

Each year, all MOE schools and ITE Colleges may opt-in to receive the Arts Grant. Schools may use the grant to subsidise the purchase of programmes under the NAC-AEP and for the Artist-in-School Scheme (AISS).

All approved programmes are listed on the NAC-AEP Directory and come with a valid Letter of Eligibility.

To purchase this programme, contact the representative listed on the Programme Detail Page and make contractual arrangements directly with the programme provider.

Please ensure that a valid Letter of Eligibility (LOE) is obtained. Note that MOE procurement guidelines apply.

Payment should be made directly to the programme provider. Claims for the Arts Grant should be made via IFAAS and in accordance to Grant Guidelines.

Programme providers are permitted to make changes to the following aspects of an NAC-AEP, according to the school’s needs:

Under the above conditions, schools can make claims based on revised programme costs using the same Programme ID listed on the Letter of Eligibility (LOE).
