Programme Synopsis Dance Expedition offers a buffet of dance from around the world — a vibrant exploration of global dance cultures, their histories, and stylistic elements. It is designed to provide students with broad exposure and appreciation of different dance forms, while igniting curiosity and a lasting interest in dance and the performing arts. Beyond technical skills, the programme also nurtures essential life skills. Through collaborative creation and group participation, students are encouraged to express themselves, share ideas, and build confidence while working with their peers. They will also be guided to create a short choreography, allowing them to participate actively and take ownership of their learning. Dance Expedition is a well-established and much-loved programme that has been successfully run in schools for over 15 years. Its continued success lies in our commitment to both quality and relevance — each dance genre is taught by an instructor who not only has deep expertise, but also stays current with today’s trends and practices. This ensures students receive an engaging and up-to-date introduction to a diverse range of dance forms. Schools can choose a mix of up to three dance genres from our curated list. Each genre will be taught by a specialist instructor. Choices of dance genres include: *Contemporary * Modern * Funk * Jazz * Tap * Ballet * Ethnic Fusion * Percussion Dance * Folk Dance * Character Dance * Broadway Jazz * Hip Hop/K-Pop * Latin/Ballroom Recommended durations: • 1–2 dance genres: 8 sessions • 3 dance genres: 10 sessions This flexible structure allows schools to tailor the experience according to student interest and scheduling needs, while ensuring meaningful exposure to each form. Course Outline: • Dance Alignment and Body Co-ordination • The History of selected Dance styles • Basic techniques and styles of each dance • Learn a short dance routine for each dance. • Perform a Dance Expedition showcase.
