Programme Synopsis The program "An intro to Drama & Music"(c) De Souza LLP brings the concept of how music enhances drama and the reason for music being a necessary part of plays and acting to give it even more depth. This program would be suitable for Higher Primary as well as Secondary School and JC students. Gavin Low is a lecturer in drama at the Nanyang School of Fine Arts as well as Republic Poly. He has much experience as an actor as well as playwright. Boni de Souza has an established reputation in SG as a professional producer-composer-arranger as well as pianist for the past 30+ years. He has produced shows in association with government organisations as well as corporate entities for many years. Their combined expertise in Pedagogy (Both are in LA Salle MA Arts Pedagogy & Practice) and years of experience in their respective crafts holds them in good stead to create this program to give students an overview into the concepts of drama and music in collaboration. The program begins with Gavin's explanation of some fundamental drama concepts using visuals to demonstrate. Boni then joins in for the explanation of how music enhances visuals whether it applies to "live plays" or recorded videos. They then proceed to demonstrate how this can be done with "live" musicians in a spontaneous presentation. An interactive segment allows some participation from selected students or volunteers. The show ends with a drama skit accompanied by "live" music. Musicians include Boni de Souza - piano, Kailin Yong - violin, Niq Osman or Mat Noor on percussion.

1. For "live" performance at school hall we require a stage with sound system. We require use of the AV system connected to our laptop to show visuals. Any additional instruments hired would be chargeable. 2. For digital "live stream" we would record at a professional studio and stream "live" (spontaneous) to school via zoom or youtube. Studio fees would be chargeable. 3. For Workshops the Hall or Auditorium would be best so students experience and gain some knowledge of stage craft.
